Principal’s Message
Dear Students, Parents, and Friends of Theodore Roosevelt High School,
Maya Angelou—poet, author, and civil rights activist—once said: "I've learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel."
At Theodore Roosevelt High School, our mission is: All students will reach their full potential in an equitable and inclusive environment. This mission guides every decision we make and every interaction we have with students. Our staff takes great pride in creating an environment where students, families, and community members feel valued, supported, and connected.
It is important for our entire school community to understand that every student's journey is unique and that every student matters. Each individual at Roosevelt is a valued member of our community with the ability to learn, grow, and contribute in meaningful ways. While some students achieve many of their goals during their high school years, others are still in the process of discovering and reaching their potential, and that journey continues well beyond graduation.
None of our students are ordinary. Each one has the capacity to do extraordinary things. We continually encourage our students to believe in themselves because, with that belief, there is a strong possibility for truly wonderful outcomes.
As a school community, we have established our Mission, Vision, and the Rough Rider Way. This foundational framework guides our purpose, outlines our goals for continued success, and defines the values and behaviors that best support our students.
Roosevelt holds a special place in my heart. I was fortunate to attend Roosevelt as a student, and since the fall of 2000, I have had the privilege of serving this community as a teacher, coach, assistant principal, and principal. For more than 26 years, I have been blessed to work alongside dedicated educators, supportive families, and remarkable students who make Roosevelt such a special place.
